(you must answer a total of 4 Travaux Pratiques questions during the semester; you may choose all questions from one section,
or you may choose one question from each section, or 2 here and 2 there, etc. Each question response will be worth 30 points.

to teach/educate young people? Is the 'Net not simply a toy, a games connection, another source of media overload? Go to http://www.apreslecole.fr and to http://www.lescale.net and see how the 'Net might be called into service to help children--and adults!--learn. Cliquez "Sais-tu que" in the
LESCALE.NET site and see if some fact is presented there that you had not known. Is there a fact that you would like to send
to the LESCALE.NET Webmasters? What, for instance? And as for APRESLECOLE.FR, take a "test de perso" and see how you fare,
or see what interests you " la Une". Then, if you still have some basic questions about why the sky is blue or the rising
moon is so seemingly large, go to "Dis Papa" at http://www.dispapa.com (mirror in English). Choose a question and see if its answer explains things for/to you Comment et pourquoi

find? Why is this country putting this material online? By contrast, check out http://www.in-burundi.net Is this site government-sponsored? How can you tell? What kind(s) of information is/are available at non-gov't sites

French government's Culture Ministry site at http://www.culture.fr Why do you suppose the United States has no Ministry of
Culture? What kinds of "expositions virtuelles" can you find here? And what is the "Internet virtuel" (These are clickable
at the left side of the Culture Ministry home page by the way, is this a redundancy, this name?). Notice that there is also

Answer at least one of the
questions below, in as elaborate or as simple a way you wish to do, and then take the "quiz" related to this partie
du cours. If you wish to do further surfing/research on any of these subjects, you may use that as your projet écrit. NOTE:
You are supposed to write two "projets écrits" during the semester. You will find other "projets écrits"

to think that history concerns only the past, what is dead, what is over with. How/why is this opinion accepted or rejected
by/in the materials presented in these 'Net connections? What is your own opinion about history? Is it only "old stuff"?
And of what use is it to us today?

as the one given here? What is the "futurism manifesto" that is included here? And what do you think of the opinion
held by many French people that there seem to be more and more folks these days who think only about the future, neglecting
the present, and ignoring the past?

Télé-Internet, Internet, et le WWW-voilà ce qui commence
à supplanter le Minitel, accepté depuis environ 50 ans comme le moyen convenable de "se connecter" aux musées, aux
théâtres, à l'annuaire téléphonique. De plus, l'Internet s'utilise de plus en plus fréquemment comme outil de commerce. Donc,
est-ce que la petite boutique française se meurt? Et quant au commerce sur une grande échelle, allez à l'adresse francophone
de l'OMC, l'Organisation mondiale du commerce: http://www.wto.org/indexfr.htm Que pensez-vous de cette organisation et de
ses buts/efforts?

What seems to be interesting to the French in the worlds of sci-fi? Are things more scientifically oriented or fantasy-directed,
or…??? Do you see any links to stories that you know? How are they presented/described? Are the tales different from the way
you remember them?
